Stopped at Bordershop to “fill up” the car, bought a years supply of beer, it became a lowrider:
Bye Germany and Bordershop:
Denmark, here we come:
I think my car was the highest of the lowriders, some people just packed the car full, no concirn about the weight.
We have a lot to learn from germans about building roads and also about driving on them. Had a 300 km drive from Prora to Puttgarden, 200 of them on Autobahn, 3 lanes in each direction, no speed limit, people to the left drive 100 km/h, I put cruise control on 140 km/h, was in middle and to the left, Mercedes, Porsche, BMW and a few Audis rule…
Basically, if you see a premium car, get out of the way, these guys have the cruise control set for 200+ km/h.
Prora is a german vacation resort on the island Rügen, built 1936-39. The Nazis decided thay needed a recreation area for the german people and started building a huge complex, 6 floors, 4,5 km long nd 150 m from the beach. Today some parts are falling into decay, very little part is used and I noticed construction workers cleaning up in some parts.
Very nice and white beaches, time glass sand:
Managed to find an opening to g inside, don’t think you are supposed to, but where I went you could see it had probably been used in some way until 30 years ago.
But on the other hand, Prora is a very nice resort, definately coming back:
Was also asked to move the car if I didn’t want it towed…:
Exiting Kaliningrad was done in 30 min, then the Polish customs were really difficult, 2 h in total again… Was heading for Prora in Germany, since I left nida this morning, I knew I was in for a long drive. Basically a 1000 km drive, including 2 russiand border controls.
Decided to top up ATF-fluid in the middle of nowhere before it got dark:
Nice sunsets again:
At about 01:00 I had enough, was about 10 km from Prora, pulled into a truck parking lot folded the back seat down, got my sleeping bag out and slept till 8:00.
